Name: Fleming Sisters Scholarship
Reflection:
This is a certificate I received for being a recipient of the Fleming Sisters Scholarship in the fall of 2001. This $1000 scholarship was given to be based on my academic achievements, my experiences with children, and my leadership skills. The certificate was given to me at a luncheon where I had the opportunity to meet the Fleming Sisters, and thank them for their generous gift. The Fleming sisters were 3 sisters that graduated from UNI, and taught for more than 100 years between them all. They valued education and therefore created a scholarship for aspiring teachers.
This certificate shows my dedication to working with children and the teaching profession. It also commends academic and leadership skills from my high school career. I am very proud of this scholarship certificate and the time I invested in making myself a worthy candidate for this scholarship.
I would use this scholarship certificate to demonstrate the positive qualities required of teachers, and to further my own education and skills to obtain further scholarships and awards.
